Kali was very good during her trip to the vet. Luckily she didn’t
have to be examined so she wasn’t too stressed by the visit
– she was still glad to get home though.
She’s back on the same medication she was taking last April
when she was displaying the same symptoms. The vet suggested that
the current problem may have been brought on by the change in the
weather – it has turned much colder in the past few weeks –
and this sort of stress can cause her symptoms especially if she
has been left with any permanent damage or reduced liver function
from the zinc poisoning. I was a bit sceptical but having checked
last year’s diary she did get ill at about this time of year!
The vet wanted a poo sample before Kali started her medication
so, after a couple of hours in her house, I got her out again for
her usual playtime. She spent most of it sitting in her favourite
corner but she did visit her potty so I was able to start her on
her medication that evening.
This morning I was pleased to see that she’d eaten the medicine,
in fact she’s cleared up all her food – she hasn’t
done this for a week or two.
